4 Squares
If you take 4 squares that are all one inch by one inch and place them side by side, you will have a figure that has an area of 4 square inches. The perimeter of this shape will be 10 inches.
How many different ways can you arrange these 4 squares if they have to be joined along an edge and not just at the corners? What is the area of each of these figures? What is the perimeter of each of these figures?

In aig we took four 1 by 1in sqaures and had to do see how many shapes we can make and still find a perimeter and area.I had a whole lot of fun doing it maybe you should try it.If youdon't have any blocks draw some shapes.I learned that if there 1 by 1in when you count them each block eauquals part of the area. And to get the perimeter you count the sides
4 Square
In AIG we learned about different shapes that we could make useing the same area.We talked about lots of different shapes and how the peremiter changed all the time.Oh and by the way, i want to teach you what a area is and what a peremiter is o.k.
AREA
An area is the measurmint of the inside of any shape(in choice).for example, take a square made up of 4 other squares. The area of the sqare you just made is four because you just made it out of 4 equal squares and because they where equal squares then you could just count them and then you could find out the area of that square or other shape.
Peremiter
O.k,so lets take the square made of 4 other squares again.Lets look at the outside now.The outside is measured 8.You just count the sides that are on the outside and then you just found the answer to the peremiter of that shape.you do the same thing for each of your shapes you chose exsipt the cicle. The circle doesen't have any sides so you have to do it differently.
THE REAL FOUR SQUARES
Now I made a lot of shapes and found out a lot of shapes. Now find 4 equal squares . Put them together any way to do but don't let just the corners touch.Try to make as many shapes as you can with the four squares.then find the peremiter and the area of your shapes.Injoy!
